Hello friends,
As we are welcoming a bright summer ahead , i thought this subject would be very handy. Summer comes in a AADANAKALA(uttarayana), AADANA means to take away, so ayurveda says in this period of the year as sun rays are closer to earth resulting in drying up of our energy and water sources , so body feel drained out and dehydrated .
Even though we cannot change the course of nature , but ayurveda provides some very simple recipes to beat the effects of this heat, they are known as PANAKAS ,
few of them can be totally made at home like -
* NIMBU PANAKAM(LEMON JUICE) - 4 tsp of lemon juices + 500 ml of water + sugar as per taste + cardamom
*COCONUT MILK DRINK - extract 100 ml of coconut milk + cardamom + 200 ml of water
sugar as per taste .
And ayurveda mentions about few herbal PANAKAS which are very effective and simple to make,
i m mentioning here few important ones
* SARIVADI PANAKA - at our clinic we make a concentrated syurp of it using sariva moola (known for its blood purifying effect and reduces pitta) kesar petals(rejevinative and cools the body) ,sita (brown sugar candy)
Just add 2 stp of this concentrated syurp to either a glass of milk or water , and its ready to serve, easy and very very tasty.
*USHIRA PANAKA - it is also a concentrated syrup made up of a very famous herbal known as ushira (vetivera zizonidis) , khas khas in hindi, + dhanyaka patra (coriander leaves) + sita (brown sugar candy )
Just add 2 stp of this concentrated syurp to either a glass of water and its ready to serve, easy and very very tasty.
